99 Ranch Market will permanently close its Chino store at 4024 Grand Ave. on November 15, laying off 49 employees. Its Pleasanton store at 4299 Rosewood Drive will close on December 5, affecting 54 employees. Both stores are in California.

Tawa Supermarket Inc., the Buena Park-based parent company of 99 Ranch Market, filed two Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notices on Monday. The company said the decision would help it optimize its store network and allocate resources more effectively to serve customers.

The company pointed to other 99 Ranch Market locations in the Tri-Valley and Chino/Chino Hills areas. It said it remained committed to providing those communities with convenient access to its products, Pan-Asian food selections and service through its other stores in the surrounding areas.
