The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education released on the 28th its analysis of education budgets based on the initial 2026 budgets of the province's 31 cities and counties. The survey was conducted as part of cooperation to lower barriers between general and educational administration, examining local education investment and ways to expand funding.

Bucheon and Hanam had the highest education support budget shares of total municipal budgets, at 2.52% and 2.03%, respectively. They were the only two of the 31 cities and counties to exceed 2%, followed by Seongnam, Uiwang and Yongin.

Gwacheon had the highest independently allocated education budget ratio, at 0.79%, excluding municipal contributions to the education office's matching-fund support projects. Dongducheon, Uiwang, Seongnam and Hanam followed on this indicator.

Six municipalities exceeded the Gyeonggi average on both the total education budget ratio and the independently allocated education budget ratio: Gwacheon, Seongnam, Anyang, Uiwang, Icheon and Hanam. Six cities and counties were below average on both ratios: Gapyeong, Gwangmyeong, Gwangju, Gimpo, Yangju and Yeoncheon.
