The Naksaengdae Park tennis courts, built by Seongnam at a cost of about 760 million won, cannot operate at night despite having lighting. Complaints from nearby residents have prevented nighttime use.

Seongnam City Council member Lee Gun-su criticized the Naksaengdae Park tennis court project on the 19th during comprehensive questioning of the Education, Culture and Sports Bureau at the second meeting of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts. He raised concerns about advance review and budget execution.

According to council member Lee, current operating hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. He said complaints from nearby residents prevent the installed lighting from being used.

Seongnam's fiscal 2025 expenditure settlement records list approximately 760.42 million won in the available budget for facility and incidental costs, with about 759.47 million won spent. The breakdown lists approximately 748.08 million won for construction and 11.38 million won for detailed design services, with about 99.9% of the available budget spent.

Lee also criticized the lighting work being carried out on two occasions. He argued that proceeding without sufficient advance review had resulted in inefficient repeated work on the same facility and a waste of tax money.
