The People Power Party's Special Committee for Organizational Strengthening said on the 16th that it had selected candidate Yoon Jae-bok as organizing chair for Yongin A in Gyeonggi.

In the Yongin A primary, it was confirmed that 44 party members did not receive calls during an ARS telephone runoff vote among dues-paying party members on the 8th between candidate Yang, a serving Supreme Council member, and candidate Yoon. A runoff revote did not take place after Yang said he would not participate. Yoon is expected to be formally appointed following a subsequent Supreme Council resolution.

Conflict between party leader Jang Dong-hyuk and candidate Yang reportedly continued at the previous day's closed Supreme Council meeting, where raised voices were heard.

Supreme Council member Yang countered on Facebook that he had accepted the primary result in accordance with an agreement and had only demanded a thorough investigation, rather than calling for a new election. He said it was party leader Jang who had said a new election would be held, and criticized the party by asking whether it intended to bury the issues raised when nothing had changed except his announcement that he would not participate in a runoff revote.

Former lawmaker Shin Ji-ho, who belongs to the pro-Han faction, alleged that irregular circumstances had been found in multiple primaries. He urged the formation of a neutral fact-finding team excluding the faction holding party power, with priority given to a swift and accurate investigation.

Yoon Jae-bok, a prospective candidate who won the People Power Party's contest for organizing committee chair in Yongin A, said he would accept the party leadership's decision to hold the election again. His position is that he will comply with the party's decision to rerun the election after his contest victory.

The decision to hold a new election followed complaints that some voting-eligible party members had not been guaranteed an opportunity to vote through the automated response system, or ARS, during the contest.

Former chair Yoon Jae-bok explained on his social media account on the 12th that approval by the Supreme Council had been deferred following objections from some council members. He added that the party leader appeared to have decided on a new election because of concerns about guaranteeing members' voting rights.

Yoon said that if party members' political participation rights had been infringed, the problem should be corrected. He said he had advocated for those rights alongside people in their 20s and 30s during the nomination process, and stressed that he would comply with all party decisions for the sake of a People Power Party victory.

He expressed regret to party members in Cheoin District who had supported and chosen him. He asked them to join him in pursuing a greater victory and called for party unity.
