Singer and stylist Lee Yoon-jung, formerly of Pippi Band, has addressed perceptions that she came from a wealthy family because of her father's political career.

Appearing on the YouTube channel 'Mipji Aneun Gwanjong Eonni' in an episode released on the 15th, Lee said she grew up in an ordinary household and had never lived in wealth. Her father is former lawmaker Lee Kyeong-jae, who served four terms in the National Assembly and chaired the Korea Communications Commission.

She said that while many students at Seoul Arts High School arrived in imported cars, she began her commute at 6 a.m., changing between buses and subway trains three or four times. She said she also received little spending money, describing school years that differed from public perceptions.

She also described conflict with her father over her career. She said she had studied ballet from childhood but stopped dancing after a back injury in her final year of high school, then sought to enter a theater and film department without telling him. She said his opposition led her to leave home and even shave her head.
