The Ministry of the Interior and Safety said on the 18th that it planned to hold the 2026 Earthquake Safety Week from the 19th through the 25th. The event is intended to raise public awareness of earthquake safety and strengthen on-site response capabilities.

Minister Yoon Ho-jung urged the public to review earthquake safety procedures and also check evacuation locations near their homes.

Evacuation locations can be found using the facility information in the Anjeon Didimdol app. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety's app guide explains that it provides information on outdoor earthquake evacuation sites as well as civil defense shelters, hospitals, pharmacies and other facilities.

Information booths are planned at four locations with high foot traffic in Seoul, Daejeon and Busan. The schedule is Gangnam Square Plaza in Seoul on October 19, Daejeon Complex Terminal on October 21, Mangwon Hangang Park in Seoul on October 23, and the cultural community space at Pusan National University Station on October 25.

The booths are scheduled to provide guidance on what to do during earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic ash events. Plans also include interactive videos that teach evacuation procedures for different situations on screen, along with true-or-false quizzes.

Central administrative agencies, local governments and public institutions are also scheduled to participate in outreach, education and training led by the ministry.

On-site education for children is scheduled at Habin Elementary School in Daegu on October 20 and Bondong Elementary School in Seoul on the 22nd. The plan combines classroom instruction, hands-on learning and evacuation drills.
