Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Oleksandr Ganzha said power engineers had restored electricity to most consumers in the region, but more than 200,000 subscribers were still without power. He gave the remaining outage figure in a post on Telegram.

Ukraine's air force said Russia used ballistic missiles and drones to attack several regions overnight, including Dnipropetrovsk. It said the attacks caused a widespread blackout in the city of Dnipro.

Power company DTEK said grid operator Ukrenergo had ordered emergency electricity cuts across Dnipro. The cuts also extended to adjacent districts and parts of Pavlograd district.

DTEK said attacks had seriously damaged equipment in the region. Energy workers had worked through the night and were continuing efforts to restore electricity to critical infrastructure facilities, the company said.
