President Trump is scheduled to hold rallies in Iowa and Kansas on Sunday, reversing plans to cancel both events and conduct tele-rallies instead. The restored appearances remain upcoming events.

A source familiar with the plans said the rallies had been rearranged to make room in the president's schedule for dozens of additional tele-rallies that had recently been added.

Republican Senate candidates in both Iowa and Kansas are in close races. Trump visited Iowa last week, and he held a rally in Kansas on Oct. 19.

On Thursday, the president had offered a different explanation for canceling the Kansas rally: he said Marshall was performing very well in the race.

In a Friday morning interview with Kansas City's KCMO radio, President Trump said he imagined incumbent Republican Sen. Roger Marshall was in a strong position against Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton.
