A Russian drone struck a busy platform at a railway station in Ukraine's Dnipro on October 29, killing at least 13 people. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack as horrific and said it demanded a response from Kyiv's allies.

Ukraine's air force said it intercepted three jet-powered drones during the daytime attack. A fourth drone evaded its defenses and struck the station, according to the air force's account.

After the attack, Zelenskyy renewed his criticism of an agreement reached this month between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The deal eased some sanctions on Russia, allowing Moscow to release diesel onto global markets.

The national railway operator said passengers had been evacuated from more than 5,800 Ukrainian train services in September alone because of the threat of Russian drone strikes.

Local officials said at least 14 people were killed after a Russian jet-powered drone struck a crowded platform at the main railway station in Dnipro, a city in central Ukraine.

Dnipropetrovsk regional head Oleksandr Hanzha said at least 14 other people were wounded in the attack. An 11-year-old boy was among those injured, he said.

Ukraine's state railway operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, said a passenger train bound for the southern city of Zaporizhzhia was at one of the platforms in Dnipro when the drone struck.

The railway operator's chief, Oleksandr Pertsovsky, said an elevated threat level had been announced in Dnipro ahead of Thursday's strike.

Russia's military has not publicly commented on the attack. It has repeatedly struck Ukraine's large railway network, although Moscow denies deliberately targeting civilians.
