The West Valley Muslim Association completed a $16.5 million purchase of a former LDS Church in Cupertino on October 22, 2026, securing a permanent home after nearly two decades in borrowed spaces. The property at 20125 Bollinger Road includes ten classrooms, an auditorium, a community hall, a commercial kitchen and a basketball court.

The property's BQ zoning permits religious use by right, allowing the association to operate a mosque without seeking rezoning. The association said this also limited competition from developers, who could not easily convert the site to other uses.

Beyond the $16.5 million purchase price, the association identified about $500,000 in immediate work needed at the property. That put the total immediate funding need at roughly $17 million.

The association said the Los Gatos Islamic Center will remain open. It described the additional location as a response to a community large enough to need both sites, rather than one that had outgrown Los Gatos.
