Reba McEntire says 'Happy's Place' will dedicate an episode to Dolly Parton

Reba McEntire says 'Happy's Place' will include a dedication to Dolly Parton in its second episode of Season 3, airing Friday, Oct. 30. The series returns for its third season Friday at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.

McEntire said in a recent Zoom interview that Parton's death occurred while the cast and crew were filming that episode. She said the show consequently decided to dedicate that particular episode to Parton.

The dedication appears in the Halloween episode, in which tavern partner Isabella, played by Bellissa Escobedo, sets up a Dia de los Muertos ofrenda. It includes photographs of real people who have died, including Parton.

Escobedo said she was able to include family members who had died on the ofrenda, an experience she described as meaningful. She said a few other cast members had also included their own family members.
