Real Madrid calls for La Liga chief's resignation over Nazi propaganda comparison

Real Madrid called on La Liga president Javier Tebas to resign after he likened the club's approach to that of Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda chief.
The club responded Friday to a lengthy social media post Tebas had published earlier that day. It also sought his immediate resignation as vice president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
Tebas' initial post criticized Madrid's television channel for repeatedly showing compilations of mistakes by referees scheduled to officiate the club's matches.
Tebas said the method recalled propaganda techniques used by Goebbels, including repetition, constructing an enemy and subordinating facts to a narrative. He said he was comparing techniques, rather than ideology or Madrid's supporters.
Madrid said it was intolerable for someone holding two senior positions in Spanish football to use a comparison with Nazi propaganda methods to discredit the club, its management and its television channel.
