Jeffrey Donaldson faces sentencing for historical sex offences
Jeffrey Donaldson, 63, was convicted in June of 18 sex offences, including rape, involving two women who were children when the abuse occurred.
Former DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson is due to be sentenced for historical sex offences against two women who were children at the time of the abuse.
Donaldson, 63, was convicted in June of 18 sex offences, including one count of rape. The convictions concern the abuse of two women when they were children.
He is due to appear at Newry Crown Court, where judge Paul Ramsey will determine how long he will spend in prison.
Donaldson denied the offences. The jury convicted him of one count of rape, 13 counts of indecent assault and four counts of gross indecency.
Extracts from victim impact statements by both women were read at a pre-sentence hearing last month.
His solicitor previously confirmed that papers seeking an appeal had been lodged.
