The Minnesota Vikings decided to sign wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Wednesday, with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison dealing with injuries.

Beckham said Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell had expressed that he wanted him there. He described that feeling as welcome and said playing for someone who also had their heart in the opportunity felt better.

Beckham, 33, made the Giants’ 53-man roster and was on it for the first few weeks of the regular season. In that period, he recorded no catches and received just one target.

New York waived Beckham on September 29. Since then, he had been looking for his next opportunity.

His first opportunity with Minnesota could come as soon as Week 5, when the Vikings travel to New Orleans to face the Saints.
