Paul releases diary entries attributed to Fauci calling for Trump's impeachment

Diary entries attributed to Anthony Fauci and released Wednesday by Senator Rand Paul include a January 2019 statement that President Donald Trump should be impeached.

Republican U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky released diary entries attributed to former federal health official Dr. Anthony Fauci on Wednesday. They include a January 2019 statement that President Donald Trump should be impeached, recording a private assessment attributed to Fauci.

The publication is the second collection explicitly presented as Fauci's personal diary. It follows Paul's July release of pandemic-era entries covering December 2019 through December 2022. Paul also released a separate collection of historical records and emails spanning 2001 to July 2015.

Paul announced the additional diary release in a nine-post thread on X, telling readers that he was making more years of Fauci's diary available.

Paul chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and is using the diary as part of a broader investigation into Fauci's conduct.
