Trent Fenton wins Alone Australia season four

Season four moved the survival competition from Oceania to Sápmi, inside the Arctic Circle. Participants were placed beside lake Rahajärvi, where freezing temperatures, limited calories and isolation shaped their attempt to win the $250,000 prize.

Fenton, a father of three, spent 52 days alone and outlasted nine other contestants. The others either withdrew or were judged medically unable to continue; he said he did not consider himself an exceptional survivalist.

Back in his regular life, Fenton said he plans to pay off his mortgage, invest for his children's future and spend some of the money on shared family experiences.

He also intends to give some winnings to fellow contestant and former serviceman Dylan Hyatt-Jacobson, who discussed his family's difficulties with IVF treatment during the competition.

Fenton also said he would support Sia Kindberg's fundraising cause. The ultramarathon runner, who withdrew in episode six because of frostbite, is planning an October run from Sydney to Melbourne to raise money for survivors of slavery, trafficking and abuse.
